Some bands and producers make trance and electronica with few sounds and a very "slight" aural picture... they call it "minimal trance". "Minimal trance is fine and we like it," Bjorn sayes, "but it is not what Divinorum is about." Divinorum is about "Maximal trance". Take the journey and you will discover vast fields of sound, big and lush, cosmic and powerful. It's the BIG sound of Divinorum - Maximal Trance! Divinorum was started in 1997 by the already experienced music producer Bjorn Lynne. Before then, he already released a number of alternative, rock, and symphonic albums. But the universe of psychedelic and cosmic trance had a powerful impact. In late 1997, Divinorum went to the top of the download charts at the popular internet music site mp3.com. Throughout 1998, various Divinorum tracks appeared on compilation CDs from several record labels all over the world, including BooM! Records, Tranceplant, Solid Records, TRSI Records, Scope Records, Clubware Records and others. In February 2000, Divinorum was the "featured artist of the month" in the high profile musicians magazine, Keyboard, and distributed all over the world. Two Divinorum albums are available.
On The Horizon was composed and recorded in January 2001 using a Power Mac G4 and Digidesign ProTools (and lots of synths of course). Bassic describes this piece as "A portrait of the feeling of sailing towards the horizon, inspired by the Swedish kids TV show, "Vilse i Pannkakan," where one of the characters had an impossibe dream to one day reach the horizon with his run-down sailing boat..."

Track 3: If I Could (Dance Remix)

Like most great artists, Lorraine Lawson has been an aspiring performer since she was a child. "Everyone tells me that I sang and danced from the time I woke up to the time I went to sleep." Lorraine's first performance was at her church Christmas Pageant when she was just two years old. Lorraine co-wrote all 11 songs on her first record while collaborating with fellow songwriters, Karon Bernstein, Greg Kavanagh, Mark Shannon, Russ Boswell and Don Breithaupt. The songs range from the uptempo power pop of "If I Could", to soaring ballads like "How Do I Let You Go" and the urban sexy sound of "Do". Lorraine's music can best be described as soulful pop. Lorraine and her team have put together an impressive web site http://www.lorrainelawson.com and as well as a page on mp3.com (http://www.mp3.com/lorrainelawson). "The internet is an incredible tool for marketing to and receiving feedback from your listeners. We want our fans and supporters to take part in the journey with us." Using her web site, Lorraine canvassed her supporters to determine which song should be her first single and be supported by a music video. The response was overwhelmingly in favour of If I Could. Through public performances and the power of the internet, Lorraine has built a strong word of mouth following. "If I Could" is currently being added to radio stations across the country. And her video, shot in Cancun, Mexico will be added to MuchMusic later this month. Lorraine and a crew led by Matt Long, nominated for Best Director at the 1999 MuchMusic Video Awards, flew down for a frantic 5-day shoot. MuchMusic accompanied them to film a segment for EC News on the " making of" a first time independent video. "We had a great time making this video. It was a lot of work, but I think that the end result is fantastic." Lorraine credits her team, as well as continuous hard work for her successes. "Whenever a friend of mine is asked what his most memorable moment has been, he always answers 'I haven't experienced it yet'. I feel exactly the same way! Life keeps getting better and better. After reaching each goal there is always another one to strive for. My motto is 'Be grateful for what you have today and excited about what tomorrow holds.' That is how I try to live to live my life."
